Hello there fellow Sam.

Swinging by on my quest to track down all the Sams on the net and bring them together under a single roof.

I've set up a Sam-tracking top-sites type thing you may or may not be interested in. Swing by my site (www.sam-site.com) for more information - it's no scam, just some fun.

Essentially I'm aiming to recruit as many Sams from the internet as possible for a showdown of some kind. We're an interesting bunch, and it's worth celebrating that fact.

Hope all is well. Yes, I know it's a little weird, but I find the unusual to be interesting.

Best regards

Sam

Heyup there Sammy.

Good looking b&w&p site thing you got going on here. When you get the chance cruise this here information superhighway for other Sams' blogs (like I'm doing) you'll turn up some fascinating stuff.

There's a Mayor Sam, and a really ugly dog to name just two.

Cheerio!

Yeah, and there was ANOTHER flying cockroach in my room this week!! We finally put up some much needed screens and I spent the night on the couch, watching Glengary Glen Ross and clinging a broom. Man oh man. Hey, so Tim and I are leaving for Nova Scotia on August 1st. I'll post pictures when I'm back. Miss you!

So I posted some pictures from Belgium on my now-defunct ex-blog type thing. You should check them out. Europe is goooorgeous, even in crappy snowy weather. (It was barely above freezing the entire week I was there, even on the clear days). My mom is in town dealing with my chronically sick grandma. I'm going to buy me a bicycle because I was so inspired by all the crazy bike-ness in Holland. Say hi to Angela for me if you ever see her...

Guess how cold it was this morning. No seriously, just guess. 16 degrees!! 16!! That's like fifteen degrees below freezing!! I left the house for ten minutes, to go buy hot chocolate at the corner bodega. Holy crap, apparently winter has finally arrived.

Sam, great to see you at Spider Club as well. I didn't know you're back in school. Maybe you told me that night but my memory neurons were drowning in alcohol. What are you studying?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!!! Yo, I'm so super sad that I'm not celebrating his birthday in California! But tell everyone that I'm getting drunk this week to celebrate it anyway. :) I miss you and everyone lots and lots! I'm coming home December 14. I got my tickets and everything. Which means we should Christmas shop together at some point. Or something. I already got Christmas presents for you and Angela because I couldn't resist. :) I'm going to Conneticut for Thanksgiving and DC this weekend. The weather just turned cold cold cold so maybe snow is on the way...

Sam!! Ugh, that sounds awful. Car crashes suck. I'm glad you're okay though. Beautiful weather out here lately... I don't know when it's going to turn to crap but it's been pretty darn good so far...
Lots of hugs,
Amy
PS Do you remember when I said I went out on a date with a guy? Yeah, he dumped me. Something about the timing not being right. Blech.

Yo! Yup, Raise the Red Lantern was totally based on the movie, which was based on some story, which I'm sure was based on some ancient Chinese legend told by skinny little men with long white mustaches and flowy sleeves that they stick their hands in. Go Asia!

I finally got to catch up on your blog today. Sounds like you've been having a mad lot of fun. So there's an artist in New York named Robert Smithson (www.robertsmithson.com)who, in conjunction with The Whitney Museum of Art, made this 'sculpture' called "Floating Island." Basically, the guy took a chunk of land, like dirt, with grass and trees on it and put it on a barge and is sailing the barge around Manhattan for a week. New York is craaaaazy!

Film Diary: Six Feet Under

Six Feet Under was easily one the best dramas on TV (OK fine, "It's not TV... it's HBO") and I'm really sad to see it end. But like the show so often demonstrated, life goes on.

I watched almost every episode of all five seasons by myself, so I'm glad I got to watch the series finale with Sam.

Love is all a matter of timing
After months of waiting and several failed attempts, I finally got to see 2046 on the big screen.

Sam and I had already seen it on video, but we convinced Shahab, Kurt and Tripp to join us at the NuArt.

Tripp fell asleep (like he did during Steam...

Aw, Sam... I miss you already! Aren't the lupines in Colorado ridiculous? They don't actually grow in Telluride but they grow in the neighboring towns. So pretty...

Holy crap, in like thirty hours I'm going to be in NEW YORK!! Randy sent an email saying it was ridiculously hot out there right now. Awesome.

Sam, don't stress out over what other people want for you. Don't go back to grad school unless you know why you are going, otherwise it'll be just a waste of time. It took a freakishly bitchy boss for me to quit my job. Funny how two weeks ago I was going to stay indefinately! Change happens quick, and I don't think you are one of those people that swaddle just to be dwaddling.
