Lady Sovereign, a semi new artist to the states that Nate recommended to me. She's good. Not my style - a bit too grimy, but she's hilariously awesome. She toured with The Streets in the states just recently and is acquiring a bigger fanbase. She is tiny (around 5 feet tall) and her style reminds me a lot of Dizzee Rascal. Check her out if you can. And speaking of good artists, Josh and I have been listening to the new album from TV on the Radio and I like it a lot. It's mellow and soothing and it reminds me of The Arcade Fire (who I LOVE), but a bit different, of course.

I haven't posted in a while. Sorry, I have been working a lot and by the time I get home, I don't feel like staring at the computer screen too much. Also, it's been so HOT here in LA. Crazy humid hot. It's awful.

I had a rather pleasant weekend full of good food and good times. Josh's friend Shane and his wife, Sibyl, threw a White Trash BBQ at their house. It was full of bad food and bad beer. Luckily, it was a potluck so there was some excellent normal food and beer as well. They served Frito Pie (a concoction of Fritos chips and chili, topped with sour cream, green onions, cheese and any other fixin' you like. It was rad!

Goodness, I have run out of time to post. I am off to Vegas this weekend. I will post again soon, I promise!!

My coworker got me into Panic! At The Disco these past few weeks. They are excellent and though a bit on the poppy side, they're not too shabby for a new band. I need new music on my ipod (and old music too, but my laziness is getting the best of me). Though I recently fell in love with Janis Joplin again. She's wonderful.

I am liking our summer Fridays because hardly anyone will be in the office and most people that do come in to work end up leaving early anyway. It's awesome. Well, that is unless something comes up and we have to take care of it right away. It's slower than usual right now in advertising. It's usually crazy busy right now and very stressful. That craziness hasn't happened yet, though I know that it will happen very soon. Maybe almost too soon. Yikes! But I am off this Friday and I haven't even thought of anything as far as planning the day. It kinda sucks when all of your friends work and you have a day off. Boo. But hopefully I will be productive. I also need to check up on M because she got her wisdom teeth out today. She's probably knocked out right now. I remember when I got mine pulled. Seems like yesterday.

I've been slowly trying to catch up with friends that live far away. I started with Amy because we always play phone tag. Always. She told me interesting stories about her trip to Coney Island and all of the freaks that she saw there. Apparently we can shoot a midget with paintballs for a small fee. I don't know if I would be able to do that. I would feel bad. We also spoke of large flying cockroaches and whether or not they will die if she used Combat. Apparently they are huge (about 2 inches!) and she saw one yesterday flying by. That's scary. I suggested she throw an apple at it. Like in Metamorphosis. She didn't find my suggestion amusing. Ah well. She will have to sleep with the sheets over her head, poor girl.
Andrea is almost done with her thesis and will be carrying her PhD back to LA in mid August. I'm so excited! And I get to finally meet her new boy soon. Yay!

Life has been good and though it's almost too stable, I like it. Josh is crazy busy with teaching and working and it's nice for us to just to go home sometimes and relax. I am going to do that right now.

Independence Day was truly liberating for me. I was able to get last Friday off and didn't have to work Monday and Tuesday. The first 5 day weekend for me in a long time! I was going to go up north for the holiday, but decided against it because the girls came by last weekend and I am supposed to go up there this weekend for Tara's wedding in Santa Cruz. (Though I am not sure if I can now.) I just needed to relax. I slept in almost every day. I didn't really do much. I caught up on TV and just hung out with friends. It was a really great weekend. I needed the time off to decompress. It was HOT but lovely and we desperately needed the sunshine this weekend. Activities included:

Thursday night - dinner with Nate and Jamie, our search for ice cream late at night, watching Arrested Development all night.

Friday - laundry, coffee with Angela, dinner and drinks at The Arsenal for Sinead's farewell.

Saturday - LACMA/The Grove with Alexis and Jessica, checked out Alexis' new loft Downtown, hung out with Josh and relaxed.

Sunday - Hyde concert in Anaheim (downtown Disney), met up with Wen and Peter, watch 16 year old girls in crazy anime costumes swoon over a Japanese rock star.

Monday - lunch and shopping with Lisa in Venice, dinner and shopping at Banana Republic's huge sale with M.

Tuesday - BBQ at Dan's (Josh's director of the UCLA Animation Department) house in Hermosa Beach, swimming, sun bathing, reading, relaxing, drinking, fireworks, played Time's Up! dropped off David in Burbank and got home late.

I am tired from the long day at the beach. It took a lot out of me. But everyone else in the office was a bit sluggish too. It is a short week and I am happy. Hopefully nothing crazy happens the next two days at work so I can transition into the weekend smoothly. Now I just have to take care of the little (important, heh) things that I neglected to do over the weekend, like getting an oil change, pedicure, paying bills, Costco, watch summer movies, etc. But I think those will have to wait because I think Lisa and I are getting drinks after work. I think she needs them right about now. Orientation started full force today. Hooray!! Orientation seems like such a long time ago...like 4 years!! Goodness. Realizing that the kids that graduated high school the same year I graduated college are now just finishing up college as well makes me a bit nervous. It's a whole new generation. Yikes!
