I didn't have much time to do anything productive this weekend like clean, do laundry, do my nails, read, or anything of that sort. I did, however, go to Hollywood a lot. I think that it's becoming a trend for me. I guess it's not surprising since about 2/3 of my friends live over there now. There are so many places there to explore. I am sure that I will be able to eventually…it's not like I'm leaving this city anytime soon. I am actually one of the very few people that like it here. I guess other cities will be fun to live in…New York, San Francisco, DC, Boston, Chicago, San Diego, London, and Tokyo to name a few of the cities that I have considered living in. But really though…I can't ask for anything better than LA right now. My friends and a majority of my family are here. It seems counterintuitive to leave here at this point in my life. Every city has its cons, whether it is traffic, cold weather, humidity, wind, high cost of living, no sunshine, etc. but to me, I guess I am comfortable here. It's a nice feeling to belong somewhere. I've been here for almost 7 years since I started college. I can't believe it has been that long. It feels like I am still finding shortcuts around town and little bars and restaurants all around this big city. In any case, if I get a strong desire to want to move somewhere else, I will have to really think about it and weigh my options.

I am so tired today. I didn't get a chance to catch up on any sleep this weekend or this week, so I am kinda running on empty. The weekend was fun-filled. Friday night we celebrated a belated birthday for Andrea at the lovely St. Nick’s Pub. For some reason that night, the place was dead. It was fun though. Nate got her a really cool 90s music compilation called Whatever. It has so many great songs on it! I so want to get it soon. Anyway, on Saturday, Josh, James and I went to the Malibu hills for a party that their former boss was throwing. His house was absolutely gorgeous and way way way at the top of the hills. It had a breathtaking view and the sunset was spectacular. We had a yummy dinner and his boss made great margaritas. Afterwards, we went to Big Wang’s, a sportsbar in Hollywood in celebration of Alexis and Nate’s birthdays. It was fun. Cheap drinks and good chicken wings, but the patrons there were being obnoxious and drunk. I’m not a big fan of that. Overall though, it was a cool place and I would like to go back eventually and hope that the annoying guys aren’t there again. It was very cool meeting Alexis’ coworkers and finally seeing Jon and Erica again. Those crazy kids are always hit and miss these days.

I had brunch with Lindsay on Sunday. Lindsay and I have not seen each other as often as we like to. I have a feeling that it’s going to be this way for a while because she will be starting school soon. She had just got back from vacation and seemed to be doing well. I checked out her new apartment and talked and talked about life and stuff. It’s always nice to do that with her. She is awesome. After brunch, we went to Nadja’s apartment for a BBQ for her twin brother, Jacob, because he is leaving for graduate school this week. Mike and Matt and their friend Chris entertained us all night. They were a fun bunch.

Monday was difficult because I was really tired that day. Everyone in my department at work was back from vacation, etc. and we had tons of work to do. Work’s been a bit stressful lately, but not nearly as much as my old job. I really like it there and am slowly picking up a few new things here and there, which keeps me on my toes. I’m learning the hard way with some things, which is not the best for me personally, but hey, you live, you learn. After work that day, Josh, Kurt and I went to watch a new Korean film called Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. It had its violent moments and a keen sense of emotion (or lack thereof). It is not for the faint of heart, but it is an interesting movie.

Last night I went over to Matt’s apartment to watch Bride and Prejudice. I have wanted to watch that film for quite sometime. It’s not that I expected it to be good, but I was interested to see how they would adapt it from the book and see how good the dance sequences were. They were both ok, borderline cheesy, but it was highly entertaining though. We wanted to order in Indian food before watching the movie, but we didn’t know of any good Indian restaurants that delivered in Matt’s neighborhood. Instead, we went to Palms Thai restaurant, which is arguably one of the best Thai restaurants in LA. I love it and I hardly ever go because it’s in Hollywood. It moved right down the street, within two blocks of Matt’s apartment. We were delighted. I got their papaya salad and BBQ beef. Yum. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. I need to go there more often as well. I had a pleasant conversation with Vanessa, whom I haven’t seen in a really long time. She just started law school and is very far away now. So sad. I miss hanging out with her and going to Whole Foods for lunch. She seems to be doing well and I am happy that she likes her classes.

Today was a pretty good day. It felt a lot longer than most days, but I blame it on work. Work wasn’t bad, but it had its moments. I was, however, happy to order the office supplies, which didn’t take much time at all, but it did give me some pleasure. I met up with M and we got manicures and pedicures. It has become a social event now and its fun to go with someone else. Except, I snagged my thumb on my purse and messed a part of it up. Whoops, my bad. We went to Houston’s for some steak, but the wait was a really long time, so we went shopping in the meantime. I spent an obscene amount of money at Ann Taylor, but I got a lot of cool shirts. I’m excited secretly because I honestly don’t have much else to wear because I haven’t done laundry in so long, so I guess they will buy a few more days. The steak was wonderful and the conversation was great. M started school again, so we moved our dinners to Wednesdays. But I am thinking about taking an extension class through UCLA for work and it is on Wednesday, so we may have to change the day again. So sad. The most important thing is that we see each other though. So I don’t really care if it’s an off night or a weekend, I am sure I will see her at least once a week. That thought makes me happy.

:D SATC Quote of the Day:
Carrie: Bet you can't get steaks like this in your little Napa village, now can ya?
Big: Where do you think this cattle comes from, a ranch on Canal Street? (Season 6 - The Domino Effect)
